MY PRIORITIES
Too many Iowans are struggling with the rising cost of groceries, housing, childcare, elder care, and health care. We must find practical ways to ease these burdens so families and communities can thrive. That includes lowering the cost of living, expanding access to affordable childcare and elder care, and strengthening and diversifying Iowa’s economy to better withstand economic changes.
MAKE IOWA MORE AFFORDABLE
Iowa’s public schools were once among the best in the nation. Today, our rankings have slipped while resources have been stretched thin. We must invest in public education, support teachers and school staff, and ensure funding is spent responsibly. The majority of Iowa students attend public schools, and they deserve strong support and opportunity.
SUPPORT PUBLIC EDUCATION
Every Iowan deserves access to safe, affordable, high-quality health care. We must create an environment that supports recruiting and retaining health care providers and allows patients and providers to make medical decisions together without unnecessary government interference.
EXPAND ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE
Iowa’s cancer rates are among the highest in the nation and cannot be ignored. We must investigate contributing causes, expand prevention efforts, and increase access to early detection and screening programs. Early detection saves lives and reduces long-term health care costs.
ADDRESS IOWA'S RISING CANCER RATES
Clean water is essential for healthy families, strong communities, and a thriving economy. Iowa must increase water testing, improve accountability, and implement stronger solutions to protect water quality across the state.
